Hadith 1: Hazrat'e Sayyiduna Jabir (radi Allahu anhu) says that The Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa'sallam) would teach us about Istikhaara like how he (sallallahu alaihi wa’sallam) would teach us about the Suras' of the Holy Qur'an.

Hadith 2: The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa’sallam) has said, “Whoever performed Istikhaara will never be unsuccessful.”

Definition Of Istikhaara

Istikhaara means to seek welfare from Allah (az’zawajal). Before you start any important task you should perform Istikhaara.  The person performing Istikhaara is thus requesting Allah (az’zawajal), “Oh Knower of the Unseen (az’zawajal), give me a signal showing if what I am doing is better for me or not.”

Madina-1 : Definite Knowledge of the Unseen cannot be achieved with Istikhaara.
 

Madina-2 : Some people say that certain ‘pious ancestors’ come to them.  These are in fact Jinnaat which pose as pious ancestors.  Pious people don’t enter the body of humans and create a crowd of men and women. AlaHazrat (radi Allahu anhu) says, “People that are present ask the jinnaat as to what will happen in so and so court case? What will be the result of so and so? This is Haraam.  Jinn are absolutely ignorant, to ask them future events is utter stupidity, Haraam in Islamic law and to believe what the jinn say is Kufr.”
                                          (Fatawa Afreeka, Answer to question No. 102)

(Meaning that when the ‘pious ancestors’ arrive, it is actually the jinnaat that answer the questions. To ask jinnaat future events is Haraam and to think that jinnaat know knowledge of the unseen is Kufr.)
 

Madina-3 : If some spiritualist says that a close relative has performed black magic and says the first letter of the name or even the full name, you should not believe what he says because to assume bad of another Muslim is Haraam.  Due to spiritualists like this, many households are destroyed.
 

Madina-4 : Brothers who are worried should travel in the Madani Qafilay of Dawat-e-Islami and do Dua. If that brother is in some kind of difficulty, he should send somebody in his place.

Caution
